Privacy policy
Effective 26 October 2026
Instant Calorie is an app by Hypr Studio that estimates the calories and nutrition in your meals. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who processes it, and how you can delete it. For any question, email support@instantcalorie.com.
What we collect
- Your Google account details: your name, email address and Google account ID, received when you sign in with Google.
- Your profile: the answers you give during setup, such as gender, date of birth, height, weight, activity level, goal, target weight and diet, and the daily targets calculated from them.
- Your food log: the meals you save, with their names, items, portions, nutrition values and times, and the weights you log.
- Meal photos and descriptions you scan: sent to our server only to estimate nutrition. We do not store them on our servers. Photos you save with a meal stay on your phone.
- Usage counts: how many scans you made each day, used to apply the daily scan limit.
- Your subscription: which plan you're on, when it renews, and your purchase history. Google Play takes the payment, so we never see your card or bank details.
- App activity and device identifiers: events such as finishing setup, scanning a meal, logging a meal and starting a subscription, along with your app instance ID and your phone's advertising ID.
- Reports: if you report a wrong or inappropriate result, we keep the result and your reason so we can improve accuracy. Reports are not linked to your account.
How we use it
To run the app: to sign you in, estimate your meals, show your progress, manage your subscription, and keep the service available and protected from abuse.
To understand and grow the app: we use app activity to see which features people use, and to measure which of our ads lead to installs and subscriptions. We do not show ads in the app and we do not sell your data.
You can limit ad measurement by resetting or deleting your advertising ID in your phone's settings, under Google, then Ads.
Who processes it
- Google Firebase stores your account, profile and food log. Your data is stored in Google's Mumbai, India region.
- Cloudflare runs the server that receives your scans and passes them to the AI model.
- Anthropic provides the AI model (Claude) that reads your meal photo or description and returns the nutrition estimate. Anthropic handles this data under its commercial terms and privacy policy.
- Google Play handles subscription payments.
- RevenueCat keeps track of your subscription status so the app knows what you have access to.
- Google Analytics for Firebase receives app activity and your app instance ID so we can see how the app is used.
- Meta receives app activity, subscription events and your advertising ID so we can measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram. Meta handles this data under its own terms and data policy.
Google, Anthropic, Cloudflare and RevenueCat process data on our behalf to provide the service. Data is encrypted in transit.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, profile and food log until you delete your account. Scan photos and descriptions are not stored on our servers after the estimate is returned. Google Play and RevenueCat keep purchase records for as long as needed for billing, tax and refunds.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and data at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account, or by following the steps at instant-calorie/delete-account. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions.
Health information
Calorie and nutrition values are AI estimates. They are not medical advice. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making medical decisions about your diet.
Children
Instant Calorie is meant for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
